​Roman Naval Museum

​The submarine archeology section, housed in the Palazzo Peloso Cepolla, a valuable early seventeenth-century building, arose in 1950 following the discovery, on the seabed of the Gallinaria island, of a cargo ship from the early 1st century. BC 

In the museum, being rearranged, remains of the hull and materials recovered during the various excavation campaigns are exhibited, and above all a large number of wine amphorae, placed according to the original arrangement of the load.
